Is dit nou techno?! In een periode waarin plots alles ‘techno’ lijkt te zijn geworden en de hype trein in volle vaart gaat, is het de kunst om in deze hoge snelheid eigen te blijven. Waar komen we vandaan? Waar staan we met PLOEGENDIENST in dit verhaal en waar willen we staan?
WAAR KOMEN WE VANDAAN?
PLOEGENDIENST is van origine een B2B-concept. Tijdens de eerste edities stonden er altijd minimaal twee artiesten (een ploeg) tegelijkertijd achter de booth. We boekten de vooruitstrevende namen in de ‘underground’ house- en technoscene.
DE ESSENTIE VAN PLOEGENDIENST
Plezier hebben in wat je doet (voor en achter de booth) en jezelf niet altijd te serieus nemen, maar wel artistiek uitdagende keuzes blijven maken en vooroplopen. Door deze combinatie misschien een beetje een vreemde eend in de bijt, maar in ieder geval geen 13 in een dozijn. We vinden het belangrijk om het spel steeds net wat anders te spelen en daarin eigen te blijven: authentiek en creatief. Dat is wat ons drijft. Daarin zijn we ook volwassen aan het worden, maar we zullen het innerlijk kind nooit verliezen. Groot worden door klein te blijven.
HOE GAAT DAT ER MUZIKAAL UITZIEN?
We gaan weer wat meer terug naar de kern. Daar waar het ooit mee begon.
We gaan werken met een PLOEGLEIDER (curator) en hun samengestelde PLOEG per podium. De PLOEGLEIDER neemt ons mee in diens artistieke visie. Een mooie mix van gelijkgestemden, legendes, (lokale) talenten en unieke combinaties. Het muzikale stokje wordt per set overgedragen. Soms solo, soms in B2B. Vooral wat het muzikaal nodig heeft. Samen vertellen ze één verhaal.
De oplettende fans hebben het misschien al voorbij zien komen. We slaan de handen ineen met VBX als curator. Trots om deze unieke hosting in het zuiden te mogen ontvangen gedurende het hele weekend.
LOKAAL VERANKERD
Uiteraard is er plaats voor de lokale partijen en talenten die zich hard maken voor Breda en/of voor de muziek. Dit zal ook altijd zo blijven. Dit jaar muiten ze een compleet nieuwe secret stage op het water. Hierover later meer in de artistieke visie. Door onze liefde voor de stad en muziek met anderen te delen en krachten te bundelen, kan er alleen maar meer liefde en magie ontstaan, en dat blijkt elk jaar weer.
ENERGIE, MUZIKALITEIT, OPRECHTHEID EN PLEZIER VOOROP
We streven in dit alles na om zoveel mogelijk te werken met enthousiaste, gretige artiesten en collectieven die vol overgave, puur en authentiek met muziek bezig zijn. Als je achter de booth het goede voorbeeld geeft, dan krijg je voor de booth alleen maar liefde en energie terug. En vice versa.
SHOUT-OUT NAAR ONZE PROGRAMMEUR!
Dit alles is een puzzel die bij elkaar moet komen. Stukje voor stukje. Een intensief project (wat veel meer vraagt dan een ‘standaard’ line-up boeken), maar heel tof om dit samen met de artiesten te mogen doen. Bij deze dan ook een shout-out naar onze programmeur Björn (je wil dit nooit horen, maar we doen het toch ❤️).
ONZE VISIE VOOR DE TOEKOMST
We willen vooral lekker voorop blijven lopen in de wereld van house en techno. De artiesten van nu en de artiesten van de toekomst boeken, die je op PLOEGENDIENST nog op intieme stages kan zien, voelen en ervaren. Uiteraard met dik geluid, creatieve decors en een podiumdesign waarin de desbetreffende artiesten en de prachtige omgeving tot hun volledige recht komen. Door de jaren heen zijn we erin geslaagd om steeds weer de parels eruit te pikken en zullen dit ook blijven doen. Dat is wat we vet vinden en waar wij op ‘aan’ gaan. Samen op een avontuurlijke en muzikale ontdekkingstocht op deze unieke locatie. Dat is voor ons de basis van een goed dancefestival.
We creëren de ultieme plek waarin je optimaal op je gemak en in het moment bent met gelijkgestemden, zodat je de tijd even vergeet.
Binnenkort gooien we de totale line-up online, daarna de verdeling per PLOEG en later duiken we er nog wat dieper in per podium, PLOEGLEIDER, PLOEG en genre. Uiteraard ook snel meer info over de artistieke visie.

So, this is techno?! In a period in which everything suddenly became ‘techno’ and the hype train is moving at full speed, the challenge is found in remaining authentic. Where do our roots lie? Where do we stand with PLOEGENDIENST in this narrative, and where do we want to be?
WHERE DO WE COME FROM?
PLOEGENDIENST originally started as a B2B concept. During the first editions, at least two artists stood simultaneously behind the booth (working in shifts = PLOEGENDIENST). We always booked the fresh and progressive names of the ‘underground’ house and techno scene.
THE ESSENCE OF PLOEGENDIENST
Having fun in what you do (both in front of and behind the booth), not taking yourself too seriously, yet continuing to make the artistically challenging choices to stay ahead of the curve. Maybe a bit of the odd one out because of this combination, but at least not 13 in a dozen. We believe it’s important to play our own game and stay true to ourselves. Authentic and creative. That is our driving force. With that in mind, we are growing up, but we will always stay in touch with our inner child. Becoming big by staying small.
HOW DOES THIS TRANSLATE TO THE MUSICAL VISION?
We look forward by looking back to our core. Returning to where it once began. This year we are working with a PLOEGLEIDER (curator) on every stage. Each curator composed a PLOEG (crew of artists) to bring their artistic vision to life. A mix of like-minded people, legends, (local) talents, and unique combinations. The musical narrative will continue after every set. Sometimes solo, sometimes in a B2B. Whatever it needs to ensure the full potential of the musical journey. Together, they tell one story.
The observant fans may have already picked up on it. We are joining forces with VBX as a curator for a unique hosting. Incredibly proud to welcome them to the south during the entire weekend.
LOCALLY ANCHORED
Naturally, we are joined by local collectives and talents that always have the best interest of Breda and music in general at heart. We will never stop offering them their well-deserved stage. This year, they are taking over a brand new stage on the water. More on this later in the artistic vision. By joining forces and sharing our love for the city and music, that love can only grow. This strikes true every year.
ENERGY, MUSICALITY, SINCERITY, AND FUN COME FIRST
In this picture, we strive to work as much as possible with enthusiastic, eager artists and collectives who are passionate, pure, and fully commit to their music. Setting the right example behind the booth will translate into love and energy from the audience in return. And vice versa.

All of this is a puzzle that needs to be completed. Piece by piece. Finding the pieces that fit together is an intense process (one that requires more effort than a ‘regular’ line-up), but it is extremely exciting to join forces with the artists and create the big picture together. So, a shout-out to our booker Björn (you never want to hear this, but we do it anyway ❤️).
OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE
Our goal is to stay ahead of the curve in the house and techno scene. We book both the artists of the moment and the artists of the future. At PLOEGENDIENST, you have the opportunity to see, feel, and experience those artists in an intimate setting. Of course, with a sound system of good quality, set in a creative scenery, and with a stage design that does full justice to the concerning artist and the magical location. Over the years we have succeeded in booking gems and we will continue to do so. That is what excites us. Going on an adventurous and musical journey to explore new sounds and artists in this unique location. If you ask us, that is the core of a dance festival.
We create the ultimate setting in which you feel completely at ease. Surrounded by like-minded people, able to forget time and only live inside the moment.
